PUBLIC BETA / 0.1.0-beta.3

Install Flint on your Mac.

Flint currently requires macOS 14.0 or newer. The beta is distributed directly and is not yet Apple-notarized.

1. Download the beta

Use the email gate on the home page. Your download link is short-lived, and the DMG itself is versioned so published builds are never silently replaced.

GO TO DOWNLOAD ↓

2. Approve the first launch

  1. Open the DMG and drag Flint into your Applications folder.
  2. Control-click Flint in Applications and choose Open.
  3. If macOS still blocks it, open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway for Flint.
  4. Confirm that you want to open Flint. Future launches of that build should open normally.

3. Complete local setup

Onboarding requests Microphone, Accessibility, and Input Monitoring access, then downloads your selected speech model. Once the model is ready, dictation and personalization work without an internet connection.

You can run setup again at any time from the menu bar: Flint → Run Onboarding Again. Existing models, vocabulary, and permissions are preserved.

What is in 0.1.0-beta.3

  • Lightweight automatic update checks that never block dictation.
  • A repeatable onboarding flow for testing setup at any time.
  • Local, explicit vocabulary and correction learning.
  • Compact Dynamic Island feedback and safer insertion in rich editors.
